Nominations for Officers and Directors
During the meeting, nominations will be held for officers and executive directors of the San Diego Council of Divers.

The Council is the voice of all San Diego divers with regard to government and safety issues that directly affect local diving. We encourage all divers to participate in Council activities; members of the Council can voice their nominations in person at the meeting. For information about joining the Council, click here.

Other Highlights
The Council will be raffling some great prizes, including a signed copy of Diving Micronesia by Eric Hanauer.

Don Gilbert will give a presentation on fish traps. Briefly, the current 2" x 2" mesh size on fish traps catches fish smaller than the legal limit. Releasing the small fish at the surface is problematic because the fish are injured by being brought to the surface. It is proposed that a 2" x 3" escape port be required at each end of existing fish traps and that the minimum mesh size for future traps be at least 2" by 3". The Fish & Game Commission is expected to discuss this issue at its meeting on December 3, 2004.
